Elton John bid farewell to his adoring fans during his final tour stop in Stockholm, where he promised that they would forever occupy his “head, heart, and soul.” The legendary 76-year-old singer wrapped up his extensive farewell tour with an emotional performance of one of his biggest hits, “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.”

With a career spanning half a century and nearly 4,600 global performances, Elton John, a five-time Grammy award winner, expressed his deep gratitude to his audience at Sweden’s Tele2 Arena, declaring, “It’s been my lifeblood to play for you guys, and you’ve been absolutely magnificent.”

The concert commenced with “Bennie and the Jets” and featured a string of iconic hits such as “Philadelphia Freedom,” “Tiny Dancer,” “Rocket Man,” and “Candle in the Wind.”

The Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour commenced in North America in 2018 and made its second stop in Stockholm. Over the course of the tour, Elton John performed for over six million fans, with a notable highlight being his headline performance at the Glastonbury Festival the previous month.

Elton John’s appearance at Glastonbury drew one of the festival’s largest-ever crowds and was viewed by millions on British television.

The tour has been one of the most financially successful concert tours to date, with Billboard magazine reporting ticket sales exceeding $900 million (£701 million).

Towards the conclusion of his grand finale performance, Elton John reflected on his life, sharing his “52 years of pure joy playing music.” He confirmed that he would not be embarking on future tours but hinted at the possibility of occasional one-off performances.

“I want to appreciate my family, my sons, my husband, everything. I’ve earned it,” he expressed.
